New Museum and Visitor Center - Join the Effort

Dear Friend,

The Bastrop County Historical Society, with strong support from the City of Bastrop, has embarked on an ambitious plan to preserve the history of our area and to share it with future generations of citizens and visitors.

The Society has committed to raising over $500,000 from individuals and businesses to underwrite the renovation and repurposing of the "old City Hall" as the new home of an enhanced Museum and Visitor Center. The total cost of the project is projected to be $1,250,000 to be funded through our community donations, as wells as grants, a federal appropriation, and generous support from our city.

A very enthusiastic group of Society trustees, in tandem with other members of a special campaign committee, is soliciting pledges and donations for this purpose and has already made significant progress toward realizing this financial goal.

A member of our committee would welcome the opportunity to share further information about our project and to accept your pledge commitment. To schedule a visit—or to volunteer to help us in this initiative—please contact Museum (303-0057).

Or, if you prefer, there are several ways to make your contribution or pledge now.  You may:

This truly is your historical moment to convey the Bastrop story to new generations.  Your donation, no matter what size, is greatly appreciated and moves us a significant step closer to fulfilling our dream...and our commitment to the community and generations to come.
